Leadership Advance
When three departments in the busy Operations area of Nintendo of America's Corporate Headquarters came together, Mark Keller's challenge as Director was immense: how to motivate and mobilize a team of new and experienced leaders to manage a 24/7 operation with seamless style and solid productivity. Over a series of events, Moementum has provided team building, leadership assessment, individual effectiveness coaching, and leadership development. The results are tangible and clearly noticeable throughout the organization.
"When my managers first heard that we would be participating in group development training, most were skeptical and hesitant. After attending our first training session with Moementum, there wasn't a skeptic remaining in the group. Each individual found the training to be enlightening and relevant to their positions, including myself. Our long-term relationship has yielded very positive results." Team Interventions and Start-ups
When Cindy Evans took over the combined services of multiple ambulatory care functions at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center, she knew she had a strong team of individual leaders. She sought an energizing experience that would help them to collaborate in new and significant days. Through a carefully designed event that utilized the medium of olympic rowing with an 8-person shell on Seattle’s Lake Union, Cindy and her team learned what it meant to really row their boat together. Follow-up sessions with specific content and tools has helped them keep the experience alive back at the hospital.
"Magic happened in our team during the work with Moe Carrick. We learned more about ourselves as individuals, as leaders and as a leadership group than we ever thought possible. It was an incredible experience." Cindy Evans. www.seattlechildrens.org

Interpersonal Skill Development
Jeff Gellert, President of Jesse Engineering in Fife, WA, sought a way to help his senior and middle level leaders interact and partner together differently as they navigated tough times in the steel fabrication industry. A series of multi-day whitewater rafting trips, combined with more traditional conference center experiences over four years has resulted in leaders who tangibly treat each other differently and partner more effectively in all areas.
“Moementum's work with us was masterful, especially in terms of leading our large group of independent minded individuals into productive discussions. After a year, I still hear quotes about our work with Moementum on a weekly basis!” Jeff Gellert, President www.jesse-wallace.com

Strategy Creation
The Bureau of Land Management in the Deschutes River Basin of Central Oregon had it’s plate full with a comprehensive mapping and planning process that threatened to overwhelm and stymie the team. Moementum designed and facilitated a short-term process that allowed them to successfully identify not only exactly where they were headed, but also what each person’s role was in getting there. With everyone on the same page for the big picture (the strategic plan) the details could be picked up and worked on with greater context and results.

Integrated Learning Adventures
Adventure can be a powerful medium for deep team and leader learning, if, and only if, the design and facilitation is excellent and tied firmly to application in the real work environment. In the fast-paced time of the dot com explosion, Altrec was just another small start-up trying to grasp an ambiguous internet market share. In hindsight, their time with Moe Carrick on the Lower Salmon River (as featured in Fast Company Magazine—read article) may have been a turning point to their success. Today, in 2004, they are on of the few dot com’s still around, and thriving.
“I don’t think we would have made it without our time on the river with Moe. We learned pivotal tools for having the tough conversations we had to have when survival became the key issue.” Chris Doyle, former VP of Public Relations at Altrec www.altrec.com
